 Lights! Camera! Cake! The festivities kick off with a joyous birthday party to celebrate Roger Englander’s remarkable life and contributions to the Edward King House by celebrating our Executive Director, Carmela Geer’s, 60th birthday. Lights! Camera! Laughter!: Following the birthday celebration, laughter takes center stage with a theatrical comedy production of Lights, Camera, Laughter! that opens at 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, August 7, Thursday, August 8, and at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, August 10 at the Firehouse Theater in Newport. This comedy is a slice out of Modern Life: Two Women, Four One-Acts, Eight Characters and Endless Laughter! Lights! Camera! Glamour!: Concluding the campaign is a glamorous gala on Wednesday, October 30th at the Wyndham Resort in Middletown, RI, celebrating the magic of television and the silver screen. Guests are invited to dress as their favorite characters or in Hollywood-inspired attire for an evening of dining, dancing, and entertainment by the Down City Band—all in support of a cherished community institution.
