Edward King House Senior Center Announces 2026 Champions for Seniors Honorees
Community Leaders, Volunteers, and Advocates to be Recognized at Annual Mayor’s Luncheon on June 17, 2026
NEWPORT, RI — The Edward King House Senior Center (EKHSC) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 Champions for Seniors Awards, honoring individuals and organizations whose dedication, advocacy, and service have significantly improved the lives of older adults throughout Newport County.
The honorees will be recognized at the Annual EKHSC Mayor’s Luncheon on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Noon, at the Wyndham Newport Hotel, 240 Aquidneck Avenue, Middletown, Rhode Island.
Each year, the Champions for Seniors Awards celebrate those who exemplify the spirit of community service and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to supporting older adults. The 2026 honorees represent a diverse group of volunteers, professionals, and community partners whose efforts have strengthened the safety, wellbeing, and quality of life of local seniors.

We are honored to celebrate their achievements and thank them for their service.”
The luncheon will bring together community leaders, elected officials, supporters, and residents from across Aquidneck Island to recognize the honorees and celebrate the collective efforts that make Newport County a more age-friendly and caring community.
Founded in 1969, the Edward King House Senior Center has served as Newport County’s premier center for healthy aging, providing programs, services, education, wellness opportunities, social engagement, and support that help older adults remain active, connected, and independent.
